Fathers Day at Compassion Church | Bedridden Paralyzed | Jamie Grisham

Jun 21, 2026    Jamie Grisham

In Acts 9:32–35, we see a simple but powerful story: a man, a bed, a word, a healing, and a whole region changed.

Aeneas had been bedridden and paralyzed for eight years, but when Peter spoke the name of Jesus over his situation, everything changed. Jesus didn’t just heal him — He called him to get up, take responsibility, and leave behind the place that had defined him for too long.

This message is for anyone who feels stuck, shut down, spiritually passive, or tired of going through the motions. Because motion is not the same as progress, and comfort can quietly become a prison.

Where have you become bedridden? In your marriage? Your integrity? Your calling? Your walk with God?

Healing is a gift, but getting up is a choice.

When one man got up, two towns were impacted. Aeneas didn’t preach a sermon — he lived one.
